SV	Toen ging de hoofdman heen, met de dienaren, en bracht hen, [doch] niet met geweld (want zij vreesden het volk, opdat zij niet gestenigd wierden).

Alex	τοτε απελθων ο στρατηγος συν τοις υπηρεταις ηγεν αυτους ου μετα βιας εφοβουντο γαρ τον λαον μη λιθασθωσιν
ASV	Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them, [but] without violence; for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.
BE	Then the captain and some of the police went and took them, but not violently, for fear that they might be stoned by the people.

Darby	Then the captain, having gone with the officers, brought them, not with violence, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.
